Michael Kaiser serves as a Senior Research Associate at PQA. In this role he provides research support to the teams responsible for measure development, implementation, dissemination, communication and finance, as well as engaging in independent research on topics related to PQA’s mission.
Mike has nearly a decade of prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician and Quality Control Associate at Merck/Medco Rx Inc., in addition to several years as a health services researcher working with federal contractors on Health and Human Services-funded projects as a project manager and consultant. He has extensive experience conducting program evaluations and mixed methods empirical research, including focus groups, interviews, case studies, and bivariate and multivariate regression analyses involving a range of healthcare-related stakeholders across the United States. Dr. Kaiser served as a Task Lead on several CMMI projects, including the Part D Enhanced Medication Therapy Management Model, Bundled Payments for Care Initiative (Model 1), Community-Based Care Transitions Program (CCTP), Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and the Physician’s Quality Reporting System Project (PQRS). He has four years’ experience as a project manager for a federal contractor on a CMS-funded project related to studying documentation and Medicare beneficiaries’ satisfaction related to the Medication Therapy Management program.
Mike earned his MS in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and his PhD in Public Policy (Health Policy track) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
