Benefits of a PQA Membership
PQA Measure Development – Member Representatives are Key!
PQA’s measure development process begins with identifying high-priority areas for measure development in health care and gaps in existing performance measure sets. PQA focuses on the priorities identified through the National Priorities Partnership and aligns its activities with the National Quality Strategy. A consensus-driven process is used to draft, test, refine and endorse measures of medication-use quality. Each PQA Measure Development Team (comprised of applicants selected from member organizations) develops one measure concept. Stakeholder Advisory Panels (SAPs) – four larger groups, consisting of individuals appointed by PQA member organizations, provide input to the Measure Development Teams. These groups shape the measures that will be tested, validated and endorsed by the PQA membership and implemented in the marketplace.
PQA Measures Available for Use by Members
PQA’s quality measures are available for use in the marketplace. Member organizations may use the measures for self-assessment while non-members must purchase access to the measures and drug-code lists. Member organizations may also license the PQA measures and drug-code lists (with regular updates) for commercial purposes.
