April Quality Forum Lecture Series
Recommendation from a Consensus Conference on Improving Drug-Drug Interaction Clinical Decision Support

April's Quality Forum Lecture will be presented by Daniel C. Malone and Lisa E. Hines from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and Gerald K. McEvoy from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The presenters will provide recommendations for improving drug-drug interaction clinical decision support developed through an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)-sponsored conference series.  This lecture will be held on April 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. (ET).

PQA Members Comment on Draft Measures

PQA member organizations were asked to review and comment on three PQA newly developed draft measures prior to testing. This additional step was added to our measure development process to more effectively capture our members' input earlier on in the process.
 

PQA Will Recognize Medicare Plans for Excellence in Medication Safety Based on CMS' Star Ratings

The 4th PQA Quality Recognition Awards Program will take place during the organization's Annual Meeting & Best Practices Forum taking place May 28-30, 2014 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. This award recognizes achievement of a 5-star rating on the PQA measures of medication safety that are included in the CMS Star Rating Program and an overall summary plan rating of 4.5 or higher. 

University of Pittsburgh Developing Seminal Guide on Applying Value-based Financial Incentive Models within Community Pharmacy Practice

PQA is pleased to announce that a seminal guide for community pharmacy executives seeking to develop, implement, or evaluate Value-based Incentive Programs will be released in conjunction with its Annual Meeting on May 28th - 30th.

PQA Offers a Special Session on Quality Education at Annual Meeting

This half-day special session will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on May 28th and will focus on providing the tools for teaching others about quality improvement. Free to invited attendees. Continuing Education credit is currently being developed for this event.
 

PQA Workgroup, Panel, and Task Force Update: April 2014

PQA Workgroups, Panels, and Task Forces meet by teleconference each month to meet their specific objectives. Participants contribute their expertise and ideas to the discussion and work towards consensus-based agreement on workgroup deliverables. A summary of the activities and discussion is provided bimonthly in the Workgroup, Panel, and Task Force Update.
