CMS announces Part D Enhanced Medication Therapy Management Model
Model's goal is to improve care, reduce costs in Medicare
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation is introducing a 5 year pilot beginning 2017 that will allow Part D Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) in certain geographic regions to implement their own enhanced MTM program, waives current requirements for enrollment, and offers a reward for meeting certain cost-reduction parameters. more

NQF Cardiovascular Committee Reviews PQA Measure, Statin Use in Persons with Diabetes
PQA Measure, Statin Use in Persons with Diabetes, was recommended for endorsement by 94% of the NQF Committee members. The Cardiovascular Committee discussed any competing measures in a post-meeting call on October 9. more

Multiple Sclerosis Task Force (MS Task Force) - PQA to launch MS Task Force to explore the feasibility and appropriateness of developing performance measures for the care of individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, including measures that assess appropriate monitoring of disease activity and treatment. more
Immunization Services Model for Adult Rate Improvement (ImmuSMART) - PQA to partner with VoicePort and Scientifi c Technologies Corporation (STC) on an immunization project aiming to improve the rates of vaccination for adult patients. more
